Some of our favorite afternoons are the ones we spend together in the garden. Watering the salvias, pulling a few weeds, watching things grow. And waiting, very quietly, for our favorite visitors to show up: the hummingbirds and the butterflies.
We have been watching them for a while now. Which flowers they like, what time they come, how long they stay. We even made our own field sheets to write it all down.
One sheet for every visit. Date, weather, colors, the beak, the flower it chose,
and a little drawing.
Botánica was born from all those afternoons of watching. We wanted to put a bit of our garden into a game, so everyone can enjoy it too, and maybe get curious about the plants and the little animals that live close to them.
Small games, no rush
Our little garden corner, ready to play.
Botánica is a set of short, simple minigames. Find the right leaf, water a plant just enough, put the steps of a plant growing in the right order, or watch which flower a hummingbird visits. Nothing is in a hurry here. The idea is to relax, learn something new and have a good time.
Every plant and animal in the game is native to Argentina, like the ones we see at home. Salvias and hummingbirds, milkweeds and butterflies.
Stickers, an album and your own garden
Every minigame gives you points, and the points open sticker packs. Little by little you fill your album, page by page.
Then the stickers come to life in My Garden. You plant your collection, water it until it flowers, and watch the pollinators come and go during the day. At night the lantern turns on.
And if you watch closely, you will find some little friends hiding between the plants.
Come visit
When your garden is ready, you can share a link so your friends and family can come and visit it. A garden is always better with company.
Try it at home
If you have a garden, a balcony or even a window with some flowers, you can do what we do. Print our hummingbird observation sheet, sit down somewhere quiet and wait.
Then come play, fill your album and plant your garden. We hope it makes you want to go outside and take a look.
